The body of tin-plated steel can be divided into two compartments for coffee and sugar, and the large cap on one end is a container for salt. It is in really great condition with no major dents, areas of corrosion or holes. The lids on both ends screw on with no problem and it appears as though one cap has been soldered to fix perhaps a crack at some point in time. This item is featured in Field Equipment of the Infantry 1914-1945 by Robert Fisch, page 127.
