Up for bids is a lapel pin which I think must be pretty rare. It is dated 1918-1919 and is from the AEF which stood for American Expeditionary Force. This was a campaign during World War I that sent Americans to North Russia to intervene in the ongoing Russian Civil War. They were called the polar bears and the pin has a polar bear on it. It is just 1/2" diameter and gold-filled with a screw back. Around the perimeter it says North Russia on the top and 1918-1919 on the bottom. Then the center is blue enamel with a silver polar bear attached to it and underneath the letters A.E.F. The back of the pin is marked g.f. and the back of the closure piece is marked Bastian Bros. Co. Rochester NY with a shield in the center which has the letters MPB over a line with PIU below. This is a nice piece!! I could ship it First Class for 1.00. Thanks for viewing and please bid!! Please look at my other Russian American pin selling currently that I couldn't identify!!
