Remington Manufactured M1917 Bayonet and Scabbard in Good Condition. All markings are present and clear. The markings look much better in person, I took the pictures from a little too far away. This bayonet fits the M1917 bolt action rifle and all Trench Shotguns from World War One through Vietnam. Model 1897 and Model 1912 Winchester, etc. Bayonet was manufactured in 1917 and is marked with US, Eagle's Head and the flaming bomb ordnance stamp. The wooden grips are in fair to good condition, the one on the right is a little beat up with a small chip missing but still looks good. This bayonet measures over 21 Inches long with a nearly 17 inch blade, the blade has some wear to the finish, as do all the metal parts, but they have no corrosion or rust. The locking mechanism functions perfectly. The scabbard is in very good condition and is very solid but t is some discoloration or paint wear to the bottom metal piece. Metal pieces were painted green at some point in time. I recently saw a picture of Marines using these and M1917 Rifles in the South Pacific during the very early days of World War Two. I didn't realize these were used in WWII. You will not be disappointed with this bayonet and scabbard, both are very solid and complete. See pics for all markings and condition details. Shipping will be $10.00 within the continental US, read more
