This is an interesting old World War I trench lantern. It has 3 sides of mica windows and the 4th side is solid metal. In raised lettering on the front and back top, "THE STONEBRIDGE FOLDING LANTERN PAT'D NOV. 20, 1906 JUNE 9. 1908 C.K STONEBRIDGE M'F'G CO N.Y.C. MADE IN USA ." The mica is intact, in solid condition, with no holes or breaks in the surface except for a 1/4" cut at one edge. T is some slight peeling of the mica in a few small places. Inside at the bottom t are some wires that are bent to hold different sized candles. This is in very nice condition with no breaks to the body, hinges or handle. A wonderful 100 year old piece of early 20th century lighting. Makes a very nice candle lantern for everyday use as the light flickers through the mica panes. Great piece for collectors of WWI items, early lighting, lanterns, or American primitives. Height (including the handle): 13 1/2"; width: 4 1/4". I should have included a photo with the handle extended. The handle unfolds from the folded position that you see and rises up above the lantern top. Also, in the first picture t is a dark stain near the right bottom of the lantern and also one on top among the words. I didn't realize when I took the pictures that these marks would clean off, but they both did. Satisfaction guaranteed. Payment can be made by PayPal, personal
