This auction is for an American Artillery Shell Lamp orsometimes called a (Victory Lamp) from the World War I era or possible early WWII. A real nice piece of the 1st Infantry Division - Big Red One history. It is made with an inert shell that measures 74mm (almost a 3 inch diameter) and is mounted on a round wood three tier pedestal base, painted black. The lamp stands roughly 25" tall, with its base having a diameter of 7 ¼". It weighs about 30 pounds. It has two bulb reciprocals and a cloth wrapped cord. It in working order (plug needs cover). This lamp is definitely one of the most unique pieces I have run into. It has a painted "BIG RED ONE" logo (insignia) on a Dow Boy type helmet that is used as the lamps shade. It has bullets hanging from the rim (6 of the original16 are t and missing bullets can be replaced). The condition of the helmet is very good. It has no dents or damage other then some light rusting on the inside and on the outside crown (please see photos). What a great desk size lamp. The lamp is being sold as a collectable only.
