See the scans of the front and back. From my personal collection, this is a genuine WWI U.S. Army patch from the popular 82nd "All American" Division. This interesting emboridered on OD wool blanket like material construction example is about 2 1/2" square. This has the white cord "AA" letters and intricate horizontal blue thread embroidery as the circle and then light red thread embroidery radiating out from the circle to form an unusually executed design. The famous Medal of Honor recipient Sergeant Alvin York was a member of this division, as was a WWI DSC recipient who lived about ten miles from me in Allegany County, Sergeant Owen Duffy. I absolutely guarantee the authenticity of this insignia; it is a WWI patch. If you are looking for fake WWI patches, t are plenty of them listed on the various internet auction sites!
VF - XF apparently condition, odor free and retaining bright colors (I don't believe that the red has faded; I think it is the original color, which is lighter red than normal). NO RESERVE !!! I have a few more good variations of 82nd Division patches that I will be listing this week. I will be listing other interesting American military insignia this week. NOTE: I am very good about getting my orders out promptly, sometimes same day and almost always within 24 hours. However, lately the U.S. postal "service" has been very spotty. In the last several months, I have had first class insured items take over a month to California and two weeks in New York State. Most are delivered in a timely fashion, but a few are not. NEW RULES FOR 2007 - NO OVERSEAS SALES, CANADA AND U.S. ONLY. Sorry about that, but my airmail small packets are being stolen enroute to England and Belgium. ALSO: ALL ITEMS MUST HAVE AT LEAST MINIMUM ($50) INSURANCE. NO EXCEPTIONS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Buyer pays $3.00 for insured postage. I will combine postage on multiple orders.
