This is a 1976 Battery Press Reprint THE DEVILS IN BAGGY PANTS- COMBAT RECORD OF THE 504th PARACHUTE INFANTRY REGIMENT April 1943 - July 1945. The 504th PIR was part of the 82nd AIRBORNE DIVISION during WWII, taking part in combat operations in SICILY, ITALY, HOLLAND, BELGIUM, and GERMANY. The 504th is most famous for its RIVER ASSAULT ACROSS THE WAAL during Operation MARKET GARDEN. This is a great PICTORAL HISTORY of the 504th that was compiled soon after the end of hostilities in Europe. Included are sections on AFRICA, SICILY, ITALY, ENGLAND, HOLLAND, FRANCE, BELGUIM, and GERMANY. T are CASUALTY LISTS, including KIA, MIA, POW, and Died of Wounds Received in Action for each major campaign that list the man's rank, first and last name and middle inital; Individual photos of Regimental Officers; Battalion CO & Staff group photos; COMPANY GROUP PHOTOS; a COLOR PHOTO of Col.
