This is a beautiful WWII US Army M42 Paratrooper Jump Jacket in outstanding condition. This size 40R jumper has a nice olive greenish hue, has all of its zippers, snaps, its manufacturer’s tag, and belt! It has no holes, or tears that I could find, only some very minor discoloration here and there. The jump knife pocket has both of its Serval brass zippers – they work perfectly. The main zipper is a Crown, and it works with effort, not very smoothly (I'm guessing the zipper teeth are somewhat oxidized and could use some lubricant). This jacket came with the invasion arm flag you see in the pics, and had a 101 st Abn Div patch in the upper left pocket (no tab). Both are authentic WWII items, and are part of this grouping. The arm flag has a name and service# on it. There are several guys named Cox on the 101 st Abn Div roster; one named Ernest Cox in the 506 th PIR. Maybe he’s the same guy -- I haven’t done any real research on it. I can’t find any markings in the jumper. This is a nice authentic WWII M42 Parachutist's Jump Jacket that any collector or historian would be proud to have in his collection.
