This is an 100% original U.S. 9th Infantry Division patch from WWII. This is a 100% period patch and is made of cotton but not synthetic. It passes a black light test. I purchased this and others at an estate sale. An excellent example and would look nice framed to you K&C collection. Would certainly augment any WWII collection. The 9th infantry division was engaged in North Africa and one of it's regiments, the 39th, became the spearhead of the Invasion at Algiers. They also landed on Utah beach on D-day plus 4. They fought in France and during the Battle of the Bulge. They were involved in eight campaigns and 304 days of combat resulting in over 23,000 men killed or wounded. The 9th Divsion, "Old Reliables" was second in casualties in WWII.
