While this WWII Anderson Fighting knife is considered to be a theater knife, it was actually made on the home front by Mr. Anderson using left over WWI edge weapons. All this took place in beautiful, downtown Glendale, California. This knife with the gray handle indicates that it was made from the mid section of a Patton saber. The paper tag attached to the scabbard indicates that this knife once belonged to Sgt. John L. Ross. Sgt. Ross felt that it was prudent to carve L.R. on the handle of this knife. I can't really agree with him. The knife is in overall good condition. It has the original scabbard. Although, it must have been stored in cramped quarters because the tip of the scabbard is bent, as shown in photo #4. The paper tag also had Sgt. Ross' service number but it was very faint and the best that I can translate is 39711999. Maybe your eyes are better than mine. Shipping is about $6.00 in U.S.
