Avaiable for bids is this WWII Army Air Forces Type B-15 flight jacket in a fantastic size 40 Regular. This jacket definitely fits the 35 mission "been t-done that" look with several minor problems, but is far from finished and makes a tremendous flight jacket to wear or display. Has the typical sleeve wear-through at the cuffs, with both machine and hand stitch repair work, the zipper has been replaced at some point back in time but still retains an original Talon pull with leather tab, and the alpaca lining is worn thin in spots. The knits are original and do have several nips, snags and pulls, many of which have been stitch repaired. The collar is very soft and clean, with only a very minor loss at the corners by the zipper top and one spot at the rear that only shows if you go looking for it. The spec tag reads; JACKET, INTERMEDIATE FLYING, TYPE B-15, SPECIFICATION NO. 3220, SIZE 40 REGULAR, STOCK NO. , ORDER NO.(33-038)44-6348-AF, REED PRODUCTS INC. PROPERTY AIR FORCES, U.S. ARMY. This jacket has what I am sure is a period painted name on the right chest, "THE HOSE" , in overlapping bubble letters commonly found in nose art pictures. It also had a patch on the left chest that I would speculate was a wings/name square, and a patch on the left sleeve over the meatball logo that has long been removed.
