Here you have a 1944 dated, regulation issue, World War II AAF or GI Officer's Class A Chocolate Gabardine Tunic. The Tunic comes with an Officer's Regulation Label and Quartermaster Tag. It is wonderfully preserved and is in outstanding condition. It is 71 years old and marked as a size 38 Regular.The tunic is fabulously preserved and striking in person. You can tell it represents a high end tailoring job. There are 2 pleated breast pockets, with scalloped button flaps. The flaps are rayon lined with button snaps. There are 2 large button flap pockets at the sides, also lined. On the shoulders are epaulettes with gilt buttons, and down the front are three large gilt buttons and one plastic. On each cuff is a chocolate greenish - chocolate bevo woven single stripe that denotes this tunic as an officer's tunic. (The bevo color varies from tunic to tunic.) The cuffs are straight with no buttons or adjustments.The tunic has a partial liner with one interior pocket, the sign of a high end tailoring job. The interior pocket has the Regulation Label sewn to the exterior. The right front pocket has the detailed Quartermaster Tag. The armpits are reinforced and there are loops for a belt.
