WWII British Army Paratrooper String Vest 1941 WW2 History This is a consignment auction for a doctor client who purchased all of his military collectibles in the late 1980s. We are helping him liquidate his entire collection. Many of these WWI and WWII items are used and bear signs of wear and possible blood stains - some have a musty and/or moth ball smell. We are not experts and welcome any comments to correctly identify these items if we have something not identified perfectly. Auction Specifications WWII British Paratrooper String Vest Cold Weather Underwear - This is a netted vest. This was standard issue as cold weather underwear for Paratroopers, to help keep them insulated. T is a tag attached to the bottom of the vest that has the manufacturer "Lilly White" written on one side and "1941" written on the other. T is also a place for the size, but no size is indicated on the tag. This white netting is in excellent shape, t are a couple of places w the netting has been stretched but it is 100% intact and is free of holes and tears. It measures 23" long, 16" wide, from armpit to armpit, and 7 1/2" wide, at the neckline and is stretchable to a larger size. This is a really unique piece of WWII history! We have these items in our possession and will be ready to ship them immediately to the winning bidder.
