WWII BRITISH UNIFORM SET For the re-enactor, living history buff, teacher, student, or theater/photo prop house. This is a re-enactor quality uniform set comprised of war-time and post-war British and non-British components. This set includes the following items: -P-37 Battle Dress Uniform tunic and trousers -Mk-II Helmet -Basic P-37 web kit set -Gaiters -Reproduction accessories Britain produced millions of P-37 uniforms during and after the war for use by allied armies on the European continent. Greece, Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, just to name a few, supplied their war time armies and re-built their militaries after the war using British uniforms and equipment. British war-time production and post-war contract production differs slightly from regulation British uniforms as manufacturing short-cuts are evident in the production in an effort to save time, cost, and materials. This is the case as economic measures such as exposed pocket buttons and inferior quality stitching are evident, and the colour is slightly more green-grey than pre/early war uniforms and the wool is of a lesser quality. The BD tunic is all wool, green-brown colour, date stamped 1950 and of British manufacture for use by the Greek army. Unissued condition and sized at approximately 38-40âe at the chest. (Medium) The BD trousers are of the same material/colour and are also 1950 Greek contract production. Unissued condition and approximately a 32-34 waist size. (Like most military trousers, especially in Europe, these are a high waist type of trouser.) The Mk-II helmet date and country of origin is unknown. Based on the style of the chin strap it is probably British contract production for Belgium. It has no liner but has had a cushion installed making it possible to wear. The P-37 kit set is of mixed production dates; all items are British made and in unissued condition with a few minor stains from long-term storage. Post-war black hardware has been touched with paint to match war-time brass hardware. The P-37 web kit contains the following components: -Large main pack, 1940's mfg. -Small auxiliary pack, 1950âe(tm)s production w/ black hardware. -Braces straps, 1940's mfg. -Pistol belt, 1950âe(tm)s mfg w/ brass hdwe. (Odd!) -(2) Ammunition pouches, 1950âe(tm)s mfg w/ black hdwe. -Water bottle w/ âeoeskeletonâe strap. Undated, post-war, black hdwe. -Auxiliary straps, 1940's mfg. Uniform gaiters are British style w/ brass hardware, but are 1950âe(tm)s or 60âe(tm)s and probably Dutch manufacture as indicated by their dark green colour. Unissued w/some small cracks in the leather pads. Uniform set also includes a pair of white trouser braces (suspenders) that are reproductions, as well as a reproduction maroon wool paratrooper beret w/ badge. Also included is a post-war British style medical armband that is likely of Dutch origin. All information is correct to the best of my knowledge and research. Feel free to ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. Donâe(tm)t miss this chance to pick-up a nearly complete and very unique WWII style British uniform! Happy bidding!
