Nice example of this wartime Kriegsmarine glass used in the acquisition of aerial targets by anti-aircraft batteries (see Seeger, 1st ed., pages 252, 353). It is generally regarded as having the best optical performance of any German 10x80, and the ocular assemblies are identical to those in the deck-mounted 8x60s. This one is made by the Optical Precision Works in Warsaw ("eug")and features a prism mounting system that is superior to the standard Carl Zeiss-Jena ("blc") model. Features include a 6-element Erfle eyepiece that delivers a wide angle 7 degree field of view, individually focusing eyepieces, coated optics, internal range reticle, and integrated yoke with dual handles. Markings include the German eagle with Kriegsmarine "M", maker's code "eug", and serial numbers 1431 above 185467. On the lower part of the yoke is the "T" imprint, indicating the presence of optical coatings. All optics are intact but hazy; an internal cleaning is strongly recommended. Cosmetically, the unit is in original dusty condition but shows remarkably little wear. T is one missing rubber eyecup and the optical director that sits atop a swing arm along the right barrel is also absent. Beyond that, t is little not to like about this superb instrument, and it is offered with absolutely NO RESERVE.
