You are bidding on two original WWII German Army items: what I believe to be a pair of collar insignia boards - in near mint condition. I have not researched these so I do not know whether they are indeed a match, nor which branch, unit or rank they would have represented. The "unit" numerals, pinned to a black cloth wrapped board, read 13/M46. They are silver/metallic in color, and are in various degrees discolored. The prongs of each character pierce the board and a paper label glued to the reverse side. (See back view) The paper has the manufacturer's logo and "rubber-stamped" item ID numbers, etc. A very interesting feature. The other - "officer rank" - board is covered in black wool. It has two "silver," diamond shaped, stamped metal "rank" pins, and a two stripe, silver boullion, braided ribbon sewed to the board. The pin's prongs and the stiffened burlap basic shape are clearly visible in the rear view of the boards. Both boards are in near perfect condition. These items are part of a small collection that has been in the care for my family for the past 60 years. They are not reproductions.
