is an authentic German military case with markings....Maker's stamp... Carl Kuntze 1940 Penig-SA along with a military eagle mark and WaA170 ....Looks similar to an officer's map case...though it may easily have another purpose..perhaps you know? Two compartments on the interior along with three holders for pens or pencils and the original owner's name...two metal belt loops in rear...black leather and blackened hardware....The leather has some slight exterior wear...still quite pliable...8 1/2" x 8" x 2 5/8"...Found at the estate of a U.S. veteran of the European Theater...
