Attention Ebay: This is NOT a live explosive. This item is a military curio/relic intended for educational and or display purposes only. The item has been rendered totally useless to anyone other than a scrap metal business owner. Essentially it is a totally useless tin can. All internal components have long since been removed/destroyed. The interior was filled with an epoxy substance intended to give the item heft close to its original weight. Take note that the pictures indicate four holes have been drilled into the top of the grenade as have one in the bottom which serves two purposes. 1) Makes the grenade look more real/authentic and 2) Makes it totally incapable of ever functioning. The holes were then covered with electrical tape to approximate the original look of the item. I have sold numerous of these exact items on Ebay successfully and safely. I will not ship overseas nor will I ship to California. For the bidder: For those of you who have longed to have a very rare grenade is your opportunity. When I have time and patience I occasionally construct these very hard to find WWII grenades for a wide variety of people. I have sold them to reenactors, collectors, military vehicles owners, museums, etc...check out my feedback. Let me begin by stating that I start with an original demilled M18 smoke grenade body. The body is sand blasted, degreased, primed, and then painted and marked using color matched paint. The markings are the correct purple not the virtually pink you see on other similar type grenades. The grenade retains its original markings as stated in Darryl Lynn's book The Grenade Recognition Manual Volume 1: US Grenades and Accessories page 57. For those of you who are concerned t are actually several ways the Incendiary grenade was marked. This version being sold is of the earliest type. The font used to mark INCEN TH is slightly smaller than the post war version. Moreover, it bears loader indentification marks and the date of filling, in this case EA and 1942. Lastly is a lot number which corresponds to production. I have drilled four port holes in the top and slightly enlarged the hole in the bottom to approximate the original design. All were then covered with electrical tape as per original design. From the top down and bottom up this grenade looks the part. With the markings and correct paint it really plays the part. The grenade had several purposes most notably that of rendering useless enemy artillery or machinery during WWII. Paratroopers, engineers, commandos, and several other types of soldiers used this grenade with devastating success. One veteran who purchased one from me last year actually said he had one on the steering column of his jeep during WWII. In the event he had to ditch the jeep he would pull the pin, igniting the grenade, and the jeep would be totally destroyed due to the high heat with which the TH burns. The grenade also comes with an original grenade storage can that keeps it safe when being transported. The grenade in the can fits perfectly! I don't make many of these and don't have many to sell currently. Please ask if you have questions ahead of time. I have no doubt whoever wins this bid will be extremely happy. Money back guarantee. Shipping and insurance will be Priority USPS exact no less/no more.
