The M1935 Italian Fascist dagger . A.K.A. BLACK COATS -- Length is 12.5 inches. The blade is 8" by 1 1/8" at its widest and has two edges, one 5 1/16" and the other 7 1/16" with a staggered ricasso. The grip is a solid piece of wood and is contoured with 4 finger recesses to one side. The blade is secured by two rivets that pass though the tang. The cross guard and the upper retaining plate on the grip are made of steel. The scabbard is stamped sheet steel, and is embossed with a Fasces over the letters "M.V.S.N." the emblem of the MVSN which was the Fascist Party Militia in Italy at that time --- Milizia Voluntaria Sicurezza Nationale. I found this dagger in a chest in my grandfathers shed after he passed. This dagger has a shield or coat of arms carved into the handle. T is a close up picture of the carving so you can possibly determine what it is. T is some rusting on the dagger and scabbard. Please look at the photos closely before bidding. I have a total of four daggers that I am selling on ebay, This is lot #3 NOTE - Theese are field used daggers and they are Not in mint condition. This is the nicest of the four!!!
