This is a very nice seemingly un-issued WWII MK-1 BLUED BLADE KA-BAR Fighting Knife. This knife is in very good + to excellent condition. It is blade marked on the ricasso KA-BAR over OLEAN N.Y. There are no markings on the obverse. The knife appears to have never been issued. The blade measures 5 1/8" from the guard to the tip, retains 95% + of its original dark blue finish and the factory sharpened edge remains true as the day it was made well over sixty years ago. The stacked leather washer handle with red and black spacers at the guard and pommel retains its original rustic color. The guard has an ever so slight a movement to it. Correct pommel is in excellent condition. This beauty comes with its original fiber sheath marked USN over MK 1 on the front and NORD - 4723 over B.M. Co. Vp on the back. The standard issued Mark 1 knives were made by ten different manufacturers with many handle variations. This KA - Bar is one and would be an excellent addition to any World War 2 knife collection.
