Hello and thank you for viewing my 99 cent auctions! The item has history from our family. This little bell was purchased by my Mother's uncle John who was U.S. soldier in Italy in the mid 1940's. This is called "THE LITTLE BELL OF SAN MICHELE" These bells were puchase by aircrew members while they were on R & R on Capri Island; and they wore them on their A-2 flight jackets for good luck. I am almost positive this rare piece is sterling silver. On one side it says "San Michele" on the other side "Capri" 1945 Meaning Capri Island. I think this is a rare piece because It has the actual date on it, 1945. Also on the side it is stamped C 800. I don't know what that means. It measures 1 1/8 inches long. The clapper inside is intact. The pictures of the original booklets that came with the bell are NOT included as they are only reference that I found on website. I hope with respect to our Military men and women that I have decribed this item correctly. I am sorry that my pictures are not very good as my camera is an old one and doesn't take closeups. But I can tell you that this piece has patina on it. I have not cleaned it and I will only clean it if the winner of this auction would like me to. Please feel free to ask questions.
