HELMET: Up for auction is a WWII Rear Seam (Made by Schlueter) swivel bale. (Schlueter's were only made during WWII) Has a Dark OD green finish and a cork texture. The Khaki chinstraps and WWII early stepped hardware have been aged and detailed. The 1st pattern USMC helmet cover has been battle scared and aged to look WWII Authentic. The back of this helmet suffered some dramatic damage during the war, This Steel Pot came from a personal buddy of mine CA, he said this one was whacked by either shrapnel or a grazed bullet and took a portion of the rim off, so the USMC cover has been damaged in the same area for the full effect. For your collection this will look like a Marine who just missed being hit by a Japanese sniper.
