ATTENTION EBAY !!! THIS IS A PIECE OF WOOD, LEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES......EVEN CALIFORNIA !Up for auction is a very nice ORIGINAL WWII Type III "WINCHESTER" M1 Carbine stock set. The stock is marked with a "W" in the slingwell cut . T is an ORIGINAL LATE TYPE CROSSED CANNON CARTOUCHE on the right side of the stock. This late issue Type III DOD NOT have the W.R.A over G.H.D. on the same side. A Circled"P" proof mark is on the pistol grip area, as seen in the pics. THIS IS A VERY RARE STOCK SET !!!!!!!!!!!!! An original Type II NARROW CHANNEL, 2 rivet IBM handguard, marked "LW-B" for Milton Bradley, is included. Also included is an original "SAGINAW GEAR" buttplate & screw, and a barrel band retaining spring. The Saginaw Buttplate goes for $35-$40 and the original Type II, NARROW Channel 2 Rivet handguard is a $50 item also. This is a complete set, just drop in your WINCHESTER action, and you are ready to go ! T ARE NO REBUILD MARKS on this stock ! T were a couple of surface cracks that I filled with Walnut Dust & Superglue. The repairs will probably last longer than the stock ! I will not alter any stocks that I do. I won't sell a stock unless it is historically accurate AND looks good on my Rockola M1 Carbine. I would show you a picture of this stock on my rifle, but it is not allowed on this site. If you use "BUY IT NOW", I will e-mail you several pics of THIS stock set on my rifle, before I ship it. If you are not happy with the pics, I will refund your money,(less listing fees) & relist the item ! That is a guarantee that you won't see anyone else doing , I STAND BEHIND MY WORK ! (You must request the pics when you use BUY IT NOW.)This stock is FLAT on the bottom in the front. This is indicative of a WINCHESTER stock. You would be hard pressed to improve upon this stock set. It is beautiful, without looking "ARTIFICIALLY NEW" !!! This is an "AS IS AUCTION", but I will work with you if this item is not as described.I stripped this stock, soaked it for 12 hours in water, then steamed out MOST of the dents & scratches. I then applied three coats of TUNG OIL, allowing a 24 hour drying time between each coat, as well as hand polishing the stock with "OOOO" steel wool between each coat. I then soaked the stock for 30 minutes in Boiled Lindseed Oil , allowing it to drip dry for 24 hours. I then hand rubbed the stock with first a towell, and then a t-shirt. A second coat of Boiled Lindseed Oil was added 24 hours later. This is not a junk surplus stock that someone put ten coats of Pledge Furniture Polish on so it would look good on your puter screen. This stock was restored using time tested techniques used by Government Armorers for 100+ years. This is an AUTHENTIC finish that will last for decades with proper care. Included with your purchase will be an instruction sheet on the proper care of your historical stock set.This is an LATE Type III stock, it IS NOT A POTTBELLY , NOR DOES IT HAVE THE M2 CUT ! This stock set is all original with only a few "CHARACTER" blemishes. It is 60+ years old, it is not supposed to look new. The finish on this stock is smooth to the touch, and will definitely give your Carbine that authentic, "Been t, Done That" look. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence .
