This is a wood stock with no hand guards or stock metal. It has been chemically stripped by the Army and needs to be refinished. Comes from a large lot of stocks auctioned by the Army two decades ago. I refinished a few hundred of them over the years and sold them from time to time. I’ve decided I’ve had enough of refinishing, and will offer the remaining unfinished stocks to collectors who would prefer to refinish their own. This stock is exactly as I obtained it as part of the Army lot. It needs to be sanded, dyed, steel-wooled and oiled. We can supply advice on refinishing, if needed. This is a very good stock with some wear, few dings and some light, scattered rubs. Light but almost totally visible cartouche. Just lacks the top and bottom border lines which is normal. The ordnance wheel is about 60-70% visible. Has about a 75% circle “P”. Also has a fading tiny ordnance wheel on the butt of the pistol grip. There is a 7 3/4” long horizontal drying crack starting 3” forward of the butt, to 1” forward of the circle “P”, on the obverse side. I don’t consider it to be a structural problem. A heavy, dense stock. The cartouche is from Col. Earl McFarland, 6-11-42 to 7-31-43 , serial ranges 70x,xxx to 1,8xx,xxx . I fitted the stock to a mint Garand to test lock-up, which is tight . NOTE: This is only a WOOD part for an M1, and NOT A WEAPON. It is legal in all 50 states and does not violate any state or federal laws, nor does it violate eBay rules and regulations for sale of this part. Sold as is. Peruse the photos carefully. No international shipping. PA YMENT MUST ARRIVE IN 5 DAYS. We ship US Priority Mail insured.
