ATTENTION EBAY !!! THIS IS A PIECE OF WOOD, LEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES......EVEN CALIFORNIA ! Up for auction is a very nice WWII M1 Garand stock set. I bought this stock in a lot of surplus stocks, several more of them will be posted as I get them done. After removing 60 years of Linseed Oil, Tung Oil & Cosmolene, this is what I found. The stock is marked in several places as seen in the pics. This is a complete set, just drop in your Winchester action, and you are ready to go ! I won't sell a stock unless it is historically accurate AND looks good on my Springfield M1 Garand. All metal is included in this auction, although I must tell you that none of it came with the wood. I bought reparked metal to make the stock set complete. I also installed this complete wood set on my 1.49 million range Springfield M1 Garand, lockup is good, no rattles or shakes. No overhang to speak of, but please look closely at the pics because what you see is what you get. Don't miss out, this is a very nice stock set that you will be proud to own & show off at the range ! I stripped this stock, soaked it for 12 hours in water, then steamed out MOST of the dents & scratches. I then applied three coats of TUNG OIL, allowing a 24 hour drying time between each coat, as well as hand polishing the stock with "OOOO" steel wool between each coat. I then soaked the stock for 30 minutes in Boiled Lindseed Oil , allowing it to drip dry for 24 hours. I then hand rubbed the stock with first a towell, and then a t-shirt. A second coat of Boiled Lindseed Oil was added 24 hours later. This is not a junk surplus stock that someone put ten coats of Pledge Furniture Polish on so it would look good on your puter screen. This stock was restored using time tested techniques used by Government Armorers for 100+ years. This is an AUTHENTIC finish that will last for decades with proper care. Included with your purchase will be an instruction sheet on the proper care of your historical stock set. T are NO PINS OR ARSENAL REPAIRS ON THIS STOCK ! Very few 60 year old stocks are devoid of armory repairs, that makes this stock set very rare for that fact alone ! Again, check out my feedback and feel free to message any of my buyers to ask them about the quality of my work. I have almost $200 invested in this set, not counting my time or effort to restore it for you. It is 60+ years old, it is not supposed to look new. The finish on this stock is smooth to the touch, and will definitely give your Garand that authentic, "Been t, Done That" look. It has NOT BEEN SANDED TO DEATH, and although smooth to the touch, it still has open pores in the wood, and is not shiny, slippery or tacky. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence . Shipping to the lower 48 will include Priority delivery with confirmation for $20, all others must message me for a total. Buy the insurance, I am not responsible for damage done by the USPS. ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY WILL RECEIVE $10 SHIPPING TO THE LOWER 48,(INCLUDING APO & FPO ADDYS, AS WELL AS FREE INSURANCE !) I ONLY ASK FOR PROOF OF YOUR SERVICE. Ask questions, I'll be happy to answer them. I have had several Ebayers buy stock sets from me and then send me THEIR stock sets, to refinish for them ! Thanks for looking, and SEMPER FI ! THIS IS A "DROP IN" STOCK SET ! NOTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE EXCEPT DROP IN YOUR ACTION ! This auction is for a stock set ONLY. The pic of the trigger assembly in place is just to show you fit & finish. I abide by ALL EBAY rules, firearm is NOT FOR SALE ! Thanks for looking & happy bidding. In the sixty years plus that this stock has existed I am sure that it has been overhauled more than once. I can only attest to the fact that other than restoring it , it remains as I got it. Check out my feedback, and by all means ask questions because unless I have grossly misrepresented this item , this is an "AS IS" auction. Picture added per several requests. Pic is of trigger gro...
