All items I am listing this week come from the same estate . .......We have a bit of military, railroad, and sports collectables, as well as just a few nice old pieces .............................................................................................................This particular auction is for:.................................................................................... an amazing WWII collection of Mail / Letters - from a corporal in the Antitank co. 106th Infantry...The letters (just over 700) start in 1939 when he left the hudson valley in NY and headed to NYC to be enlisted,..(he arrived at hilo, Hawaii on march 15, 1942)....and go through all the years ending in 1944....they were stored in his old suitcase that I believe he took when he started this journey ...the letters are nearly all from him to his wife in NY, but t are also a few from her to him scatterd in......Based on the postmarks and some of the other literature from the estate, It looks like he ended up in the hospital in 1943...I only opened a few letters,..sometimes t is a newspaper clipping, or other tidbit he thought was funny or important for his wife to have, so I'm sure t will be lots more to find....At some point after leaving hospital,(based on return addres's) he was reassigned to Special Troops, II Armd Corps.......I'm going to include
