WWII US Naval Aviator's Flight Log Book, N. AER. 4111, A.B. Chaffee, R4D (C-47) & R5D (C-54) driver from Medina, Ohio. Log book documents 1942 basic training NAS Pensacola, stationed at NAS Olathe, NAS Atlanta, NAS Ft. Worth, then stationed at NATS VR-11 in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 1944 thru January 1945. Flew war zone transports to many Pacific islands. Returned to ZI February 1945 NAS Olathe with NATS VR-3, thru October 1945. Flew locally in the Medina , Ohio area, October 45 thru April 1947, mainly Taylorcraft L2's and Cubs. He logged R4D time, October & November, 1947. A.B. died May 14, 1981. I am also including his pilot's license wallet with 1942 civilian pilot's license with medical certificate, and photo ID card with fingerprints. Foxing on all paper, wallet is nice and supple leather with good plastic windows inside. Log book saw lots of action, has some period cellophane tape repair at the top, spine was painted and lettered by A. B. Log book also lists his Link Trainer time, and also flying equipment A. B. was issued for operations by the Navy.
