RARE! Original 1st Pattern Navy Nurse Service Hat +Cover This is the first time i have ever seen one of these original hats on ebay, so dont miss out, these hats are super hard to find!! This auction is for the 1st pattern Navy Nurse Service cap, introduced in the 1942. Made by Knox, the hat also come with one of the rare NNC cap devices, as well as a summer cover to accompany the summer uniform, and sometimes even the winter. This hat is far rarer than the later pattern, even though I have only ever seen those listed a couple of times. The hat is made out of a very dark, dark blue (almost black) wool fabric, w as the white cover is made out of the same fabric as the NNC summer uniform. I believe this hat to be about a size 22, but it has no tags. Condtion: EXCELLENT!!!!! No mothing, stains, etc. Even the gold braid is in very good condition for its age!! T is also no sweat stain/makeup/old hair products around the headband/inside the hat, so obviously has not been subjected to much wear during its WWII service!! Truly perfect example that will not be beaten!! My pictures really do let this lovely hat down, they are rather dark, but the hat is far, far nicer in person!! Unfortunatly I am only selling this gorgeous hat as it does not fit and i need to have a clear out as i'm running out of space!! So my loss is definitely your gain!!
