WWII LETTER FROM LITTLE GIRL TO HER FATHER & PRAYER BOOK - This is a letter & prayer book that I found that came from a house cleaning. The prayer book was given to "Joanne Marie Chiarello For First Hoy Communion, from Aunt Lee" on Dec 25, 1943. The cover is made from a hard material, possibly mother of pearl and t is a cross on the inside cover made from the same material. Inside the prayer book was a letter on stationary from Station Hospital Officers' Club, Camp McCain , Mississippi , which is dated 12 Mar. 44. The letter reads as follows: Dear Daddy, I am lonesome for you. I wish you had been for my Birthday today. We had such a good time today. Mother made a very nice cake with pink icing. I must go to bed now. Love and kisses Joanne. Then t are 39 "X" which represent 31 kisses. From some of the other items I picked up, I was able to figure out that her father had been a Officer and doctor. I have no idea as to his name or if he survived the war. This the type of letter that tells how the war affected children, it is short but it really gets the message across. I was not sure that I wanted to sell this letter, but I know that t are people who collect items, like this and I would like to see that this goes to a nice collection, rather than being stored away and not seen. For winners in the USA , the shipping will be FREE. For winners outside the USA , I will need your location to calculate the shipping charges. I ship one day a week and that is normally on Friday. Since most of my auctions end on Friday or Saturday, the item will be shipped the Friday following the end of the auction. Even if you pay with Paypal, do not expect next day shipping. Photos of this item will be added on 10/29.
