We recently attended an auction that included a whole bunch of what were sold as WWII military Recognition/ID/Spotter plane models. We don't know much about these but thought we'd buy a few and see if t are people out t who want them. Together with all of the small ones we have listed already, we also acquired this bigger one. This one was sold as a Halifax Bomber. It is marked on the bottom with the C inside of a circle which I've determined is the maker mark for Cruver and then 9-42, I believe the year it was made. On the other side, it is marked: "British Handley Page Halifax". This model has some significant damage and repair. Please see that the rear right wing is glued on and the glue job is falling apart - the wing is almost detached. The rear left wing is missing the piece that goes up and down. In addition, t is a crack on the bottom that you can see in the pictures - looks like it might have started at the hole in the middle and goes toward the nose of the plane about 2 1/2 inches. T is some blistering of the wings and t is a hole in the left wing tip that looks like it has been filled with glue. I don't know if anyone is interested in this in this condition but I figured I'd put it out t and see what happens. This model measures about 16 1/2 inches from wingtip to wingtip and just about 12 inches from front to back. read more
