This is an original issue pocket compass made by the Waltham watch company. Some say it was WWII issue while others say it's from WWI. The body is about 1 3/4" across. The brass shows the natural patina that comes with age. T are no dents, dings or scrapes on the brass body. It only pops opens part way when the stem is pressed so you have to flick it open the rest of the way. I never noticed until I took these pics but t is a narrow 1/4" chip along the edge of the glass. The glass doesn't show any sign of cracking or a danger of popping out. The needle will still point to north but it tends to get hung up. A light tap or shake will get it going again. Also included is a brass chain. You can choose to have it shipped in a box using Priority Mail or shipping in a padded envelope with First Class shipping. Priority is safer but costs more.
