This is a fantastic World War II U.S. Army Air Force Airborne Troop Carrier Officer's uniform out of my collection. The uniform consist of an O.D. Officer's Wool Field Jacket. Size - 38s. Dated 1945. The jacket measurements are - Sleeves - shoulder seam to end of cuffs - 23 inches. Shoulder to shoulder - 18 inches. Length of the jacket - back of the collar to the bottom of the hem - 22 inches. Chest measures - 38 inches. On the left shoulder is the Airborne Troop Carrier patch. On the lower left sleeve he has three overseas service stripes in gold bullion. For 1 year, 6 months of overseas service. On the right shoulder is the 9th Air Force patch. He was a 2nd Lieutenant with the U.S. Army 2nd Lieutanant's rank insignia in pin back. He has the U.S. and the Army Air Force brass officer's branch insignia on the jacket lapels. The ribbons are sewn on the jacket. He earned are - Distinguished Flying Cross medal, Air medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign medal with 4 bronze campaign stars. He also earned the Distinguished Unit Citation - in pin back. T is a nice pair of sterling pilot's wings that are pin back. The jacket is in beautiful condition with all the buttons attached with no tears or holes that I can find. The trousers are O.D. green.
