Hey Everyone! I have got today just one of the many visor caps that I will be selling over the next few months. Please continue to watch my other auctions for more outstanding items to come!
Up today is a magnificent WWII US Army Air Force Officer's visor cap. The cap has a gabardine top in near mint condition. Encircling the cap is a wonderful OD mohair band that contrasts nicely with the gabardine top. The screwback brass eagle on the front of the cap is marked "Amcraft, Attleboro, Mass, Acid Test" on the reverse and has developed a nice patina. The visor and chinstrap are both still supple (the visor has a couple of cracks on the underside and some of the stitching on the edge of the brim has come out). The cap has a partially attached and supple leather sweatband. The sweat liner has not carmelized unlike most WWII caps. The cap was manufactured by Dobbs of New York and sold specifically by Rogers Peet of New York and Boston. This cap is HUGE, fitting my size 7 1/4 head with ease. The cap is not marked with regards to size, but I would estimate it at size 7 1/4 at least! The cap does have wear as stated, but would look great on display after a few repairs! This a displayable cap in an uncommon size! What a wonderful addition this cap would make to any collection! I will work with you to make this a great experience as buying on ebay should be. All questions are more than welcome and heartily encouraged. I appreciate you looking and hope you have a great day! ******* Don't forget to take a look at my other military auctions! I'm always selling something great!*********
