ANTIQUE 1942 US MACHETE KNIFE WWII MILITARY ARMY Excellent and Scarce World War II US Army Machete with rare Sheath.

Hard to find late war piece with both blade and sheath. Very nice condition WWII US Army machete by Machete Nacional De Acero Especial Fabricado excluivamente para N. DAJER REP. DOM. POR M.C. Inc. E. U. de A.

Machete with scabbard 25 inches in overall length with an 20 inch blade. This one has the scarce red/black plastic grip handles secured by three brass rivets and has lanyard hole at top. Most of the grips that you see on these machetes are solid black. Grips show no use or wear. Blade is the original shiny finish and is clean with no rust or pitting. The scabbard is in really excellent condition. Made of reinforced and riveted olive drab canvas with brass throat collar. Reverse is stamped U.S. GEIB INC. 1942 under the bent wire hanging device for attachment to the pistol belt. Scabbard shows very little wear and is clean with solid stitching and excellent condition metal fittings and rivets. T are only a couple of small rust colored stains to the material.

These machetes were used by US army personnel as survival and landing force weapons. They were also issued to airborne paratroopers.
