This is a WWII era US Army M-1940 pattern uniform dress or duty jacket. Made of O/D brown wool material,The jacket is in almost mint condition. Other than pin holes to collar w insignia were removed,I found two pin head size hole...close together at the front about 2" below the last closure button...not detractive. T are some small brown stains to the botton left sleeve and skirt area of jacket but they are light, not too detractive, and would appear that they could be removed with a professional cleaning. No other rips, damage,or stains I could find and no significant signs of wear...near perfect. Has an outstanding ruptured duck patch over left breast and a single Overseas stripe to bottom left sleeve. No other insignia to the jacket. Has two metal belt guide posts to back. Has partial Khaki cotton twill lining and all Brass buttons (the top one has a small spot of discoloration). Has perfect Phila QM/maker (Promenade Clothes Inc.) tag with Feb 1940 pattern and December 19,1940 manufacture date (a year prior to Pearl Harbor) (See Pic). Size on Tag marked a 40L but Jacket measures closer to a 38 chest and 25" sleeve length from shoulder seam to cuff edge... A LARGE,WEARABLE SIZE. Excellent example of early WWII M-1940 coat. See my other auctions for more great Vintage Militaria. Outstanding Original Jacket for any WWII US Army uniform collection/display,general US Army uniform collection/display,or perfectly functional for use by Reenactor/Living Historian. Buyer pays 12.00 S/H in US.. Overseas is more. All sales final. Bargain opening bid and no reserve so GOOD LUCK!
