This is a Complete WWII U.S. Army Parachute. It has the release handle, elastic cords, backpad, seatpack, and harness straps. The canvas is in great shape. The front of the pack says 'U.S. ARMY PARACHUTE, PART NO. 35N 1115-2, DATE MAY 9, 1942, MFG. by PIONEER PARACHUTE CO., INC., MANCHESTER, CONN. U.S.A'. What I can read on the back says 'TYPE B-2, SPEC. NO. 40401, ORDER NO. 42-16354, ...ABLE RAINCOAT CO., PROPERTY, ..AIR FORCE, U.S. ARMY'. Some of the print is missing - see photo. T is a pocket marked INSPECTION AND PACKING DATA that has inside a 'WAR DEPARTMENT A.A.F. Form 46, PARACHUTE LOG RECORD' . The log is marked with Serial No. 42-67167 and 'Army Air Forces Instruction 6' . The log is about 2 1/4 " by 3". It lists Manufacturer as 'Pioneer' and Date as 5-9-42. T is a place below that for Stations and '11th SubDepot' is listed. The next page lists it as Repacked on 10-13-43 at 11th SubDepot and is initialed. CAPT. BURTON is marked on the back and the harness straps and a couple other places. The entire unit weighs about 17 pounds.
