WWII US Defense 25¢ Savings Bond Stamp Album(from approximately 1943) The booklet is 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" and is entitled: "POSTAL SAVINGS PLAN for the purchase of UNITED STATES DEFENSE SAVINGS BOND"
It was used for installment buying of a United States Defense Savings Bond, Series E, during WWII. When filled with 75 each $.25 stamps, the booklet was worth $18.75 and could be redeemed for a $25.00 savings bond (maturing in 10 years with the purchase of the last stamp). Albums came in five (5) denominations of 10c, 25c, 50c, $1, and $5.The album is US Form # "PS 333-25 A" and contains 49 each, green, "Minuteman" $.25 stamps for a total value of $12.25 (last page is t but is loose). T are a lot of "10c" albums around, with very few actual "stamps" in the booklet. They have been listed on eBay for as much as $8.99. The 25c album is much rarer and one with 49 stamps in it is even rarer than that. This is a great Collector's item of a by-gone era and is considered antique at about 65 years old.
