I'm dramatically reducing the size of my personal collection and will be posting many items over the coming weeks, so please check out my other current auctions and keep your eyes peeled for new ones in the days ahead! This is one of many WWII aviation items I'll be auctioning this week. It's a model HS-33 headset as was used during the war by Army Air Force aviators and ground personnel. A representative example of this item can be seen on page 274 of Mick Prodger's excellent reference for collectors "Vintage Flying Helmets." The item is in very good used condition. No major defects to report, just honest wear from age and use. The leather atop the HB-7 headband has aged to a nice reddish-brown. The rubber earpieces remain soft and pliable. The bakelite ANB H-1 receivers are well marked and show no chipping, and the wiring loom terminates in the proper PL-354 jack plug. This would look fabulous under a 50-mission "Crusher" or overseas campaign cap (the one shown is not included). Sold un-tested, though this might well still work just fine. A very nice, clean item. Shipping to the lower 48 states via USPS Priority Mail w/delivery confirmation will be $8.00; overseas via Letter Post Air (7-10 days, generally) is $13.00. Insurance optional for U.S. buyers. I accept Paypal, cash and money orders only -- no personal checks. Payment read more
