You are looking at an increadibly rare find. The ANJ - 4 leather shearling flight jacket. this one has seen plenty of action. the shearling is in fairly brittle condition. I wouldn't suggest wearing this jacket but it is fine for display or I hate to day it but for spares for another WWII leather. Talon zipper, all goat skin is in-tact.To be honest I bought this as a fixer-upper and have to move house so I can't work on it. It is quite heavy so shiping won't be cheep but I just want to see this to go to a good home.Please note! the new format requires a weight to complete posting. the weight I have entered does not necessarily reflect the postage weight of the item for auction. In 1943 the B-3, it was decided, would be superseded by a new design of sheepskin flying jacket - the ANJ-4. Many years of experience in sheepskin flying jacket design enabled them to produce an outstanding garment in every respect. They combined durability with comfort and like all American flying jackets, it had plenty of style. It proved itself beyond all expectations and became favourable among aircrews immediately. In fact, the demand was so great stocks were soon depleted. However, no more were commissioned to be made - it was the last of its kind.
