The only reason I am unsure is because of its mint condition, but it may simply be a true WWII vintage cap that was either unissued or saw limited war time use. T is no manufacturer's label. I have tried to provide detailed photos so you can determine for yourself. The cover is cotton khaki fabric with some indication of age on top w it has rested against the frame over time. The chinstrap is the same leather as the visor, and the buttons are metal and with apparently authentic guilt officers' eagles. The underside of the visor is suede leather and you can see the slight discoloration w the cap was repeatedly removed and replaced by its owner. The band appears to be mohair and resembles the WWII visor caps depicted in Tonelli's Visor Hats of the United States Armed Forces. The interior headband is leather. The interior lining seems to be silk behind a sweat shield protector. The officer's eagle insignia has been repaired read more
