WWII Vet Bringback Japanese Wakizashi Sword as shown, in nice original cond. This is the same sword I had listed twice before, but ebay informed both times that t was bidding on it from an "unauthorized bidder", and proceeded to erase the listing & any history of it & told me that I could begin the listing again from scratch, so goes, again. I have been recently been told by a reputable authority on Japanese swords who examined it that it was a very early blade, possibly dating to the 1500's. He then proceeded to take measurements & concluded that it was Wakizashi length, and definitely the genuine article. The blade measures approx. 22" in length from the front of the guard, the sheath 23", the entire rig is 33" overall. Each of the handle pieces have three Japanese characters on them, I was told to show that they each went to this sword. Blade shows some evidence of field sharpening, and is still quite sharp. T is a small brass chicken character woven under the handle wrapping on each side. She sheath is made of wood, wrapped in leather. The catch button that secures the handle to the sheath does not lock them together, probably because it is made of metal & the sheath is wood. Hope this info helps. Buyer pays 15.00 shipping Conus Priority Mail. Insurance is extra.
