YOU ARE BIDDING ON THE PICTURED WESTERN ELECTRIC THROAT MICROPHONE COMMONLY USED BY THE ARMY FOR TANK COMMUNICATION AND A STANDARD OF THE US ARMY AIR FORCE IN WWII. WORN AROUND THE NECK THE CARBON MICROPHONES (THE TWO BLACK BUTTONS) CONTACTED THE AVIATOR OR TANK OPERATORS NECK NEAR THE VOICE BOX WITH THE ELASTIC STRAP WHICH IS SHOWING ITS AGE AND STARTING TO FRAY. THE NECK MICROPHONE ALLOWED VOICES TO BE HEARD OVER THE AIRCRAFT TANK OR BATTLE SOUNDS. THIS UNIT HAS THE PL-29 CONNECTOR USED IN CONJUCTION WITH THE SW-141 PUSH TO TALK SWITCH. WELL USED AND MISSING THE LITTLE METAL NECKPIECE CLIP WHICH HELPED TO KEEP THE MIC BENT IN THE MIDDLE THIS IS STILL A PIECE OF HISTORY I WOULD LIKE TO FIND A GOOD HOME FOR.
