This sale is for a good assortment of letters, photos and other interesting papers. About this soldier: Name was Pvt. Mowery F. Troxell, Jr (Everyone called him Franklin). Entered service in June 1943. Was a member of the 2nd Engineer Combat Batallion which received the Presidential Citation for their actions during the German Breakthrough (news paper clipping is included with details of their heroic efforts). Franklin graduated from Frackville Highschool. This is a town in Central PA. Frackville is a coal mining town. Later the family moved to Chester PA. Included in this Lot: Lots of letters from Franklin to his parents. T are over 30 letters and then about 25 or so additional items. T is also a Western Union Telegram. One letter is on Red Cross Letterhead. T is another letter from one of Franklin's friends that was sent to Franklin's parents (also serving). T are some newspaper clippings. T are some photographs of people. No writing on them. All of this stuff was carefully stored in 1 bag together on an estate in Pennsylvania. So I will keep it together although I am not sure of the relation of some of the photos. T is also a negative included. On one of the photos, someone wrote names on the back -- PFC Jackson and PFC Roben or Raben. T is a cancelled check. Another letter on military letterhead. Franklin writes from Germany read more
