's an ideal pair of WW2 Army field phones for the collector or reenactor. These are dusty but they'll clean up well. I briefly did some WW2 reenacting about ten years ago and we used these two phones during that time. They're 1945 dated in the battery compartment area and both have heavy canvas cases as shown. One is a little cleaner than the other, the dirtier one is shown in more photos. Magneto cranks on side work, run some wire between these two phones and they still work. These are very cool phones, with ringers and telegraph keys built in, as seen in every war movie ever made. One of them doesn't ring anymore, it's probably a minor wiring problem that could be easily fixed, but I'm not going to mess with it. Otherwise, they both function as they're supposed to, and I can assure you, if you place your hand across the posts while turning the magneto crank, they will knock your fillings out! Battery compartments in both are clean, no corrosion. Have some unit markings painted on the canvas as shown, these are original paint marks, not recent additions. One phone's canvas is a little stiff and it's hard to snap close, I'd work with it some more to loosen it up and stretch it out a bit if you intend to use these. Use them or display them, either way, you can't go wrong. Buyer to pay for priority mail postage, thanks and take care!
