A exicting WWII photo scrapbook - It begins with the launch of the escort destroyer USS Cooner (DE-172) in july 1943 - the book shows shipbord life and north africa ports - also a captured natzi sub - liberty ships -another DE - convoy - AA fire - 40 MM - peeling potatoes - blimp - night firing - refuling (at sea) - tanker - etc - etc - this part of the book contains 105 photographs most 3" X 4 1/2" image size. the second part of the book is in the pacific. many many dead japanese on the battle fields - a native displaying a japanese trophy head - views of landings - ships firing rockets - jeeps firing rockets - a landing (combat) heavy US casualties on beach + 2 tanks - japanese maching gun nest - natives including many topless - japanese prisoners - a japanese surrender - etc etc. 49 graphic photosfor a total of 154 pictures. the book is dis bound and probley not complete - t is no way of knowing for sure. am selling it for the son of the sailor, whose name will be furnished to the buyer. a note - most of the photos are in very good condition, the haze on them is my flash.
