I was one of the Lucky few who bid on and won a chance to meet Stan Lee at this year's Comic Con (you can check my feedback to verify). Thanks to the Hero Initiative I was able to get two of my books signed and placed in CGC Signature Series Slabs.So, you are looking at one of the two books I had signed. This is a copy of X-men #1 published in 63'. The Signature Series slab states: "SIGNED BY STAN LEE ON 7/19/07 FOR THE HERO INITIATIVE ("Jack Kirby" written on 1st page in pen.)" "OFF-WHITE Pages" The Jack Kirby Signature was obtained long before CGC ever came to be, and, since they did not witness him sign it, they could not verify his name on the book. But any comic collector knows how CGC works with their Sig. Series. In any case, this book is 1 of 17 X-men #1's that have a signature series label from CGC. Thus, it is a pretty rare book. Additionally, the other 16 books don't necessarily have Stan Lee as their signatures. Furthermore, Jack Kirby also signed it. All in all, this book is a great catch and it would be an awesome addition to anyone's collection. I only wish it had graded better, but I respect CGC and they do great work. Now, as for the bidding... This is a no reserve auction, so highest bidder wins no matter what the price. So, good luck to all and get your bids in early.
