Sorry Please read my TERMS and DISCLAIMER before placing your bid. Thanks! This is an older model Continental Podiatry X-ray tube head and controller in working condition. I no longer have the support arm and base as they were taking up too much room in my shop. I've used this system for for many years as a "toy" making X-ray images of flowers, sea shells, rocks, electrical parts, and an occasional dead mouse. I own a company that repairs X-ray equipment but in my free time it happens to also be a hobby of mine! What makes this system so special is the fact that you can individually adjust the tube current (mA) and voltage (KVp) via the front panel knobs and meters. In other words, you can adjust the amount of X-ray penetration in order to compensate for dense and not so dense materials. The exposure time can be set with the hand-held mechanical timer, or you can manually turn the exposure on and off with the pushbutton switch. Just be sure to limit the exposure time to not more than a few seconds if you have the tube current set for anything greater than about 5mA. The duty-cycle for most Dental and Podiatry tube heads is 30:1. That is, you should allow the head to cool for 30 seconds for each second of exposure time so that you do not overheat it. In one of my photos you can see an X-ray image of a 9-volt battery that I placed directly in the output window with a fluorescent screen over it. I wanted to show that the system indeed is in working condition. The tube head alone weighs about 28 pounds. As you can see in the photos, the controller is currently mounted on a wooden post on the wall in my shop. The head and control will be shipped in separate boxes to reduce the possibility of shipping damage. The system operates on standard 120 Volts AC power. Included in this auction are: Tube head with cone and aluminum filter, Interconnecting cable, Controller, Mechanical Time switch, Pushbutton Switch, and Power Cord. T are no other items included. I do not have a manual or any other documentation for this system. WARNING AND DISCLAIMER: X-rays are dangerous!
