Xavier Cugat was one of the first successful Latin Band Leaders. He was on TV in the 1950's. Was married to Charo. He loved chihuahua dogs and marketed them for a while and provided certification that they were "Cugat Dogs". This is an item marketed during his popular career. The original box states that "The Canasta Tray that has Everything "Swing It and Play"...Cugat's Way". Manufactured by Kuhlman Plastics Company, Kansas City Missouri. No date. Tray is marked with the company name. The original box is complete. The box lid was meant to be 3 dimensional with his face and tray image popping up. The box lid has a couple of areas w the red paper layer is missing. T is a tear at the bottom of the tray image but everything is t The bottom has a water stain. My pictures should show these deficiencies. Now for the neat things. T are 3 images of caricature drawings of him on the front box edge. The tray is yellow plastic even though he box is marked "green". Two piece tray. The top is not a uniform yellow color and this appears to be as made. The top becomes the bottom and the tray swivels. One black plastic cover on one foot is missing on the bottom but a minor problem as the top becomes the bottom and it will sit level if used.
