Miss Faye, a dear family friend has asked my help in pre-spring cleaning. Her basement is chock full of goodies. After a few husbands, kids, and a hobby of remodeling old houses (she's done 4 I believe), she's doing the mid-life pare down (I laugh, she's almost 60 and doing 70) I am now near an expert on any of her stuff, so I'll describe what she's selling to the best of my ability. She had a relative that had a pharmacy awhile back, so we will be putting a few goodies up for you to bid on. I dont know much about what I'm listing, but I'll try to describe what I've got to the best of my ability and hopefully you ebayers will get a bargain or two.... Up for bid is one Extra-Large Ceramic Mortar and 2 wooden handled Pestles. The bowl is 13" across at the pour spout and stands 6.75 inches tall. Miss Faye doesn't know what this was used for, but it was used. The pestles are 12" long with ceramic balls and wooden handles. One wooden handle is loose, and the ceramic ball on it has a 5mm chip in it near the wood The other one has a crack in it that is 3" long but doesn't go all the way through it. No chips or cracks or repairs in the mortar. This was in the relatives store from the late 40's to the late 80's. Postal insurance required.
