Hi Everyone! I have a number of wool items tonight. Everything from Folk Art, Easter, and Spring. I am patiently waiting for spring! LOL I have had enough of Old Man Winter!
A Big Thank You to all of my customers. I appreciate all of you who have sent me kind words concerning my work and the wonderful pictures of your homes decorated with my art. It never fails to amaze me of all the creative ways that you have found to display them. My quilts and table runners always look great on a sideboard, farm table, under a dough bowl, hanging on a wall, laid over a couch or that favorite rocker of yours. This penny rug or candle mat has been HANDMADE by the seller! It measures approximately 15 1/4" across. This entire piece has been "FELTED". The front has been made from cream wool. Each piece has been individually HAND cut from hand dyed wool, wool, and felted wool felt and HAND appliqued using a blanket stitch. The vines, berries and all of the detail has been HAND embroidered. I have backed your penny rug with a felted sage green wool to hide the stitching and give your piece a nice weight. I know it is difficult in these times to find high quality, handmade items. My items are all HANDMADE by me, one at a time. I take great pride in the quality of my work. I pay attention to detail, and I do not take shortcuts! My pieces are entirely HAND quilted and HAND appliqued. I do not use a machine for either. Each one of my quality pieces is designed to be a family heirloom, to be passed with pride from generation to generation. I know it takes more time to HAND quilt, but this is what TRULY makes an heirloom piece. Careful attention to these details has provided me with feedback from around the world thru satisfied and repeat customers.....An assurance of quality work. You will not be disappointed. Please note that the starting bid on my auction in no way reflects the amount of labor in the creation of each piece. Please Note: I have received a number of questions and comments lately, so I have decided to add this additional information. If you are looking for HANDMADE items, PLEASE read your auctions carefully. A number of sellers will use the terms stitched in place with a blanket stitch, individually stitched on, quilt applique, etc. Unless the seller says it was HAND stitched.....More than likely it was done with a machine. Also pay attention to the quilting process. If your seller is omitting to tell you how the piece was quilted, it also is likely that it was done by a machine. The time involved in HAND work is immense. And sellers such as myself are proud to let you know this. My best suggestion to you is to email any seller and ask if you are in doubt. I recommend that you never wash your beloved quilts, etc. in a machine or dry in a dryer. Even though I use quilt shop quality cottons, threads, batting, etc. it is best not to do this. T are many sites on the internet to confirm this, and explain in more detail how to take care of your quilts. You should hand wash, line dry, or lay flat to dry. You may always press with an iron. I know it is tempting to throw items in the washer when we are sooooo busy, but this is not a good idea. I suggest professional cleaning on all of my wool items. Now for the boring stuff!
